Ms Kris Tong 湯崇敏女士
Executive Director, TREATS 親切總監
Ms Kris Tong is the Executive Director of TREATS. She holds Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Sciences from the University of Hong Kong. She was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Executive Programme on Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship at INSEAD in France. As the chief executive, she led the team to achieve impressive growth and transformed a 40-year old charity into a proactive, impactful organization through innovative services and projects.
As a leader and practitioner with strong background in the non-profit sector, together with a solid experience in community engagement, project development and funding acquisition, she developed partnerships with people from different sectors. To achieve bigger social impact, Kris collaborates with over 30 corporates, with 5,000 volunteer hours mobilized every year.
Other achievements includes setting up outcome and impact assessment tools for TREATS inclusive services, developing the first inclusion education curriculum from kindergarten to secondary school in Hong Kong, organising the first Hong Kong Inclusive Kin-ball Cup and TREATS Inclusive Sailing Race in Hong Kong. She and her team conducted researches on social inclusion for children and youth in HK, e.g. “Research on Inclusive Play Space in Hong Kong” and “Survey on SEN secondary students on inclusion and exclusion”. By establishing the first “Circus for All Team” and “Inclusive Dragonboat Team”, children with all abilities and backgrounds have equal participation opportunities through creative and inclusive sports projects. The “Circus for All” Project was awarded “the Outstanding Social Service Project” by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.
Kris is invited by schools and organizations as speaker for talks and workshops. She is the author of the book “Nurturing Positive Children by Storytelling”. She is the honorary consultant of the Scout Association and was the member of various Standing Committees of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.
